Santa Ana, CA

This is that one guy from the documentary 'Off the Charts: the Song Poem Story.' I saw him as we were paying for our food at a diner in Santa Ana (which is a very pretty city).

He found out that I just did a kids' movie and sent me 4 cds. One is just prank calls, with lots of swear words (ok, that was funny, I admit). Some of the other music he sent me is equally bizarre (I mean, you know which song in that doc he wrote, right, RIGHT?). The accompanying letter said that he's always looking to have his music used for soundtracks. While it's kind of interesting in a grotesque way, I just don't think my producers will let me use "Nude Women Blistex" or "Field of Corpses." Maybe on the next kids' movie though...

Anyway, we ended our road trip on Saturday night (at 11, thanks to the time change, I thought the time change didn't happen until 1 am the next day, but now I know I was wrong). 1304 miles in 2 days (well, 53 hours), and a lot of that was the slow and windy PCH--but it was fun and beautiful. I have some pictures and stuff, maybe one day I'll get those on the internet. Also, our gas light came on right as we got home... just like it was when we left.
